ABOUT US:
The Southeast Center for Healthy
Communities is a program of Health Imperatives. The SCHC
is funded by the Department
of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services in coordination with the Office of Healthy
Communities, to assist communities and organizations in
developing effective substance abuse prevention strategies for the
greater well being of their residents.
Who We Serve
The SCHC partners with community groups and coalitions that are comprised of a diverse cross section of the community. Members of these groups may include educators, health and human service providers, local government, youth, business people, clergy, law enforcement personnel, members of the general community and other community leaders for the 69 cities and towns we serve throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.
This year our primary partners are:
- BSAS-funded underage drinking prevention coalitions, utilizing environmental strategies.
- BSAS-funded opiate overdose prevention initiatives (MassCALL II).
- Members of the Southeast Community Prevention Network (open to anyone in
Southeastern MA involved in a prevention effort).
- Southeast Prevention Institute Participants.
- Six Community Health Network Areas (CHNAs).
- Members of SYNERGY (Inter-CHNA Network).
- Patrons of the resource libraries.
