The Regional Centers for Healthy Communities

The goals of the Massachusetts Regional Centers for Healthy Communities are to:

  • Encourage collaboration among communities to reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, particularly among youth and young adults.

 

  • Mobilize youth and young adults for leadership and civic action.

 

  • Promote partnerships among regional and local public health leaders.

There are six Regional Centers in the Massachusetts statewide system providing support to all 351 cities and towns throughout Massachusetts.  All of the centers are funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services in coordination with the Office of Healthy Communities.
