National: 

Annie E. Casey Foundation

Generally limited to initiatives that have significant potential to demonstrate innovative policy, service delivery, and community supports for children and families.


Hasbro Children's Foundation

Subject: Committed to improving the emotional, mental, and physical well-being of children from birth through age twelve and their families through the support of innovative direct service programs in the areas of health, education, and social services. 


The Home Depot Foundation

Subject: Nonprofit organizations and programs throughout the United States who are working to: Create or rehabilitate affordable housing; Assist at-risk youth; Protect the environment; and Prepare for and respond to disasters. The Home Depot Foundation gives first priority to organizations that have been invited to apply for a grant. However, The Foundation also will consider unsolicited requests that match its eligibility requirements.

Funds: $5,000 to $25,000 

 

Kellogg Foundation
Subject: Helps people help themselves through community development, educational, and social initiatives.

 

Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
Subject: OJJDP provides funding to States, territories, localities, and private organizations, including faith-based institutions, through block grants and discretionary funding.

 

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Subject: Seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans. To achieve the most impact, the foundation prioritizes its grants into 4 goal areas: 1) To assure that all Americans have access to quality health care at reasonable cost; 2) To improve the quality of care and support for people with chronic health conditions; 3) To promote healthy communities and lifestyles; and 4) To reduce the personal, social and economic harm caused by substance abuse - tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs.

 

Rosie's For All Kids Foundation
Subject: Grants available for projects related to child care, education and other crucial programs directed at children who are economically disadvantaged and/or at-risk. 
Application Guidelines/Eligibility: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations

 

Tiger Woods Foundation

Subject: The Tiger Woods Foundation grant-making process focuses on providing opportunities to children and families who are underserved in the following general areas; education, youth development, parenting and family health and welfare.

With Arms Wide Open Foundation
Subject:
Goal of the Foundation is “to ensure healthy, loving, nurturing bonds between children and their parents by funding existing service providers that focus on education, public and judicial action, as well as those which provide assistance to low income families and families in crisis”.
Application Guidelines/Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations
Deadline: Applications accepted anytime, but reviewed in April and October.

 

 

Massachusetts:

 

Massachusetts Service Alliance

Subject: Supports community service work in four areas: AmeriCorps; After-school Community Service-Learning; Mentoring; and Youth Service-Learning.
Deadline: Open. Letters of intent accepted at any time; invited nonprofits will then submit in 1 of 2 annual grant award cycles.

 

Blue Cross/Blue Shield Foundation Catalyst Fund
Subject:
Mini grants for one-time capacity building in community-based organizations; including health prevention activities or health care education; hiring a grant writer; community meetings to engage stakeholders and constituents; leadership development; strategic planning activities; board development and staff training.

Application Guidelines/Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations and community health centers.  Organizations (Mass. Only) that service health care needs to uninsured and low-income residents.
Deadline: Open. Reviewed monthly

 

Carlisle Foundation
The priorities of this foundation include substance abuse, domestic and community violence, homelessness / housing, economic development and other services for children, youth, and families.

 

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation
S
upports the efforts of community-based organizations and coalitions that work to improve health outcomes. By proactively identifying communities' health needs for prevention initiatives, education and action, the Foundation provides timely resources to enrich and expand programs at the community level.

 

Southeastern Massachusetts:

 

Community Foundation of Cape Cod
Subject: The mission of the Community Foundation of Cape Cod is to help non-profits on the Cape respond to the changing and emerging needs of the Cape population.  Grants may be made in the areas of health, human services, environment, education, the arts and community development.

Application Guidelines/Eligibility: Nonprofits that serve Barnstable County residents.
Deadline: April 1st, October 1st

 

Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts
Subject: The Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts' mission is to be a channel through which individuals and organizations may direct gifts for community betterment in a way that will provide the greatest lasting benefit.
